The Page Designer is the visual editor for form templates and operation pages. It’s where you decide how a form is structured — which fields appear, in what order, and inside which columns, fieldsets, and tabs.

Open the Page Designer

Open a form template’s menu and choose Edit. The template opens in the Page Designer.
While you’re designing, the app navigation is hidden so you can focus on the layout. Use Save and go back when you’re done.

What you can do

  • Drag and drop the block tree — a form is a tree of blocks: columns, fieldsets, tabs, and the fields inside them. Drag blocks to restructure the layout, move fields between sections, and nest blocks to build the arrangement you want. See Forms and form templates for what each block type is for.
  • Undo and redo — step backward and forward through your layout changes while you work.
  • Attach rules from the Code menu — the Code menu is where the form’s behavior lives: OnSubmit, OnLoad, and OnDelete rules, plus the full rules view for everything attached to the template. See Field rules.
  • Import and export the design — save the form design to a file for backup, or bring a design file in to reuse a layout.
  • Preview — test the form as users will see it before committing to the change.
  • Save — apply your changes to the template.

Restructure a long form

A single tall column of fields is hard to scan. Here’s how to turn one into a layout with columns, a collapsible section, and tabs.

Split the essentials into two columns

Add a columns block and drag the most-used fields into it, side by side. Two columns cut the vertical scroll in half and keep related fields — like a name next to its identifier — visually paired.

Group secondary fields into a fieldset

Add a fieldset and drag the less-frequently-used fields into it. A collapsible fieldset keeps those fields available without letting them crowd the essentials.

Move distinct areas into tabs

If the form still covers several distinct topics — general data, commercial terms, logistics — add tabs and drag each topic’s blocks into its own tab. Users see one area at a time instead of one endless page.

Preview, then save

Use Preview to walk through the form as a user would. When the flow feels right, select Save.
Export the form design to a file before making big structural changes. If the new layout doesn’t work out, you can import the file and restore the previous design.
